I'm gonna attempt to draw 100 random characters using all the palettes in fallenzephyrart's 100 palette challenge.
It's a drawing and coloring exercise of sorts for me, similar to the 100 Writing Themes Challenge. Photoshop, took about 3hrs.
The palette does fit one of my OCs, and so far, it seems that he's gonna be the most normally-colored one among the 100 characters that will be illustrated as part of the challenge. Anyway, Affable Hector is one of my OCs for Image, my on-going Star Ocean 3 fanfic. He's the leader of a hunting guild headquartered in Kirlsa, and he, along with his best friend Todd, was inspired to establish it 25 years prior to the events in Image after losing his then-girlfriend in the near-constant war against Aquaria.
He received his title because of his friendliness and warm demeanor, helping those who have become victims of the war by giving them second chances in life and empowering them. His headquarters may have also doubled as an orphanage for Airyglyphian war orphans [and runaway teens such as Ymmyj] because of this. Despite being in Airyglyph territory by virtue of location, Hector's faction considers itself to be neutral in the war against Aquaria. Hector has an all-around hatred of war that he envisioned the guild to help end the war as soon as possible through whatever means. But, compared to the warmonger Duke Vox who is also captain of the Dragon Brigade, he's powerless. His wealth as a nobleman and high favor with the rulers of both kingdoms prevent his capture and imprisonment, though.
He is Ymmyj's mentor, and the guy who further trained him in the art of double-stick combat. Six years onward since the day he first saw Ymmyj hunting for wolf pelts in the Bequerel Mountain Path, he would meet Fayt and Cliff. He would see great power in them, especially in Fayt, the slender, blue-haired boy who happens to be genetically modified to carry the destruction symbol in his DNA.
Additional Fact; Affable Hector is an anagram of Father of Cable, which is a play on words on Amanikable [the ancient Filipino hunting deity], which is alternatively spelled as Ama Ni Cable. If the spelling with spaces is interpreted as a Filipino phrase, Ama ni Cable can translate to English as Father of Cable.
