Modern Bilevel House - Exterior 1

Description

This is a collab with Joanna, my girlfriend. (Yep, this is probably how architecture students go on dates. :XD:)

There's a story behind this house as well. In 180, there is a part there where Joanna and I, now a married couple, bought a house where we were to start a family together. It was an old, abandoned split-level home (originally built in the post-war era) which we decided to refurbish and modernize. The design is, just like our marriage, a fusion of different personalities. (I like more monumental and modern styles of architecture and the use of concrete, glass, and steel; Joanna prefers light and airy, favoring wood, Japanese architecture, and organic form.) The refurbishing of the house, is obviously, a symbol of a new life after destruction and abandonment.

Some features of the house include solar panels, rainwater harvesting system, and a rooftop garden where we could grow our own food.

Also, neighborhood codes don't allow the side walls to have windows because the houses are close to each other. (The neighboring houses are not pictured here though.)

Softwares used: AutoCAD, Chief Architect Premier X5, Adobe Photoshop CS5

Wow! I love this! My favorite part about this is that despite you guys' differing preferences, this has a very cohesive look and it looks like one brain conceptualized it. That's really hard to do. Well done! :D
